Come for a day or for a lifetime...Come for a day or for a lifetime...
Plantersville, located in Lee County, Mississippi is a community of 1,000-plus residents thriving in the shadows of nearby Tupelo and the rapidly expanding communities of Saltillo and Blue Springs.
The town of Plantersville got its name for the postal service in 1872 when the post office was opened. Incorporated in 1880, it is considered one of the oldest towns in Lee County. The town began as a settlement about 5 miles SE of Tupelo’s original site at the junction of Hwy 6 and Richmond Road. Today Plantersville is a place of small town values and lasting friendships. It is filled with individuals committed to progress, to growth and to making Plantersville the place everyone wants to call home. (Photo of Plantersville School 1906)
